From high school students that talked ever so often to young adults that are now getting married, keep reading to hear a quick recap of how we got here today!

Bryce and Maddie both went to the same local high school together, Go Greenwave. They were two completely different kinds of kids. Bryce was the video game type of kid just getting through school for the day to get back home and catch up on his XP, whereas Maddie was the girl with horses and sang in Choir/Theatre and couldn’t wait to get to rehearsal or get on her horse. Bryce and Maddie would occasionally visit before Ag Science class, oddly enough Maddie doesn’t remember these visits as clearly as lovestruck Bryce does. For Bryce these visits would be the start of a year’s long crush that Maddie was completely unaware of.

A couple of years would pass where Maddie and Brye would have both graduated from CCHS and would continue their young lives with no contact, until the day that a Facebook friend request would pop up! A coworker of Bryce’s would find Maddie at her work and would tell her of Bryce’s crush he’s had on her since high school. After that conversation Maddie would accept Bryce’s friend request on Facebook. You would think that with them being friends on social media where you can send messages to each other that they would break the year’s long silence, but you’d be wrong, they never “slid into each other’s DMs”.

A handful of months would pass since Maddie learned of Bryce’s crush and them being Facebook friends, and the two would end up finally getting into contact! Maddie received a text message from one of her friends, “Maddie! I’m at the bar!” and Maddie being the friend she is, meet her friend at the local bar to check in on her. When Maddie arrives at the bar, she finds her friend and another friend that was invited out. The three girls are chatting it up and then the front door to the bar opens and in walks a group of guys, funny enough, Bryce is one of those guys in that group! Maddie tells her friends “Oh my gosh! That’s Bryce! I seriously just found out that he has had a huge crush on me since High School.” Maddie’s friends proceeded to encourage her to go talk to him and after a convincing “Maddie he could be the guy for you!” Maddie finally went up to him. After a hug and a hello Bryce and Maddie start chatting it up. Bryce pulls out his phone and starts showing Maddie pictures of his truck and other things that fall under the “lets catch up since school” topic. With his phone in his hand, he turns to Maddie and says, “You know, I don’t think I have your number.” With that Maddie gives Bryce her number, because after a slick way to be asked you can’t say no! One of the other guys from the group Bryce walked in with comes over to the two and says “Hey, we should probably get going soon so that we aren’t too tired for Hot August Nights tomorrow”, giving Bryce a subtle hint. Bryce then turns to Maddie and asks if she’d like to join them, and of course Maddie says yes.

The next day Bryce comes and picks Maddie up from her house and they ride out to Hot August Nights together. Once there they park across from the lot and must walk to the actual event. Before crossing the road to get to the car show Maddie takes Bryce’s hand in hers and they hustle across the busy Reno road together. This moment of holding hands was enough to seal the deal for Bryce! After that day they were with each other just about every evening and have continued to write their love story to this current chapter of getting married!
